I am a
pre-service teacher enrolled in the Bachelor program in TESL (Teaching English
as a Second Language) at Concordia
University. I have a
previous Bachelor in Visual Arts with a minor in Film Animation from Concordia University. I worked for the film industry for
14 years from 1993 to 2007 on 42 television and film productions as a
decorator, on-set decorator, prop buyer and assistant art-director. In this
domain I experienced the use of computers for all sort of applications in
terms of decoration, but also for pre-production and the draft versions of the
sets.
I directed a short film animation called "Une ame nue glisse a l'eau
vive - A naked soul sliding into vivid waters". It is a poetic and
surrealist tale. The action takes place in a metaphorical space: a human
character is meditating over a glass of water when suddenly we dive into the
glass and into his convoluted mind. Toward the end of the film we realize that
we might have been experiencing a writer in the throes of creation. This film
was selected and presented in nine international film festivals throughout the
world.
Other personal interests are: painting, drawing and printing (particularly
silkscreen and etching). Over the years, I developed a strong interest
in communication and decided to enroll in the Teaching English as a Second
Language Bachelor. I am quite interested in the computer as a pedagogical
tool to assists teaching. I would like to share with students of all ages the
benefits of bilingualism using a communicative approach.
